Please help me with identifying this item The makers mark (FH) is unknown and the hallmarks suggest that the piece is Edingurgh 1690 but this seems unlikely to me.

Unfortunately, you are right. The spoon is not from 1690.

It is from Edinburgh and the date letter is for 1965.

Whenever you read date letters, you must make sure that the font and the shield are correct. In this case the same 'k' is used for 1690 and 1965 but the shield shape is quite different.

I'm afraid that the piece is too modern for me to know the maker.
