Do you know if it is possible any easy way of repairing a dent/about 1cm diameter) on the surface of a vase?

Wow! That's very interesting. You could certainly try that technique since you won't have to worry about any paint damage. The one thing I would caution against is if there is a hairline crack in the dent that may open up. I would suggest first trying this on a piece of silver that may be headed for the refiner.
