I have some kind of bowl with a weaved mesh that fits on the top. It says Sheffield fproduction on bottom and is number A701. How do I find out what it is and when it was made?

If you want to know what it is we need to see a picture. If there are no other marks on it we have to assume it is electroplate and it will be virtually impossible to give a date of manufacture.
