Potasi Silver L & S Fork. Please Help?

Hi,

My dad has produced a large bag of vintage spoons and forks that he has kept for many years. Most being passsed down from previous generations in his family.

I have become interested in whether any of them are worth anything, and if so, how much.

This particular fork has got Potasi Silver L & S printed on the handle, and im wondering what it means. I have learnt about EPNS, and was wondering if this was worth much, and where it came from.

If anyone can help me out I would be very greatfull.

Thank you

Potosi silver is not silver, but some form of alloy. The Potosi Silver Company was a subsidiary of Levi & Salaman Ltd of Birmingham. Here is an ad from an 1896 trades directory:

For those of you not familiar with our older currency 15/6 means 15 shillings and 6 pence (12 pence to the shilling, 20 shillings to the pound).
