Does anyone have a clue as to what silver FAW means? This is stamped on a piece os Wedgwood jewelry and I can find no info as to what it means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope this might help, although it is for their pottery I think your answers will be found on this website. Cheers

Hello Lonnie

I've just seen your enquiry. 'FAW' is the hallmark of F.A. Welch, the Liverpool jeweller who set Wedgwood cameos in precious metals (i.e. not in stainless steel, such as the company Grattan did) from the 1950s to the 1970s. In the 1970s he sold Merseyside Jewellers, the company he created to make this jewellery, to Wedgwood, and he then became jewellery consultant to Wedgwood.

I've seen 'FAW' being identified as a descendant of Josiah Wedgwood on some websites! That is completely wrong.

Hope this is helpful.
