I have a tray which was my christening present and I have finally got round to trying to work what the hallmark means.....but struggling to match it to anything!
Photos arent great but would really appreciate any help in identifying year made, etc.

I may be wrong. but I suspect that the symbols are <crown> E P G S. This would make it electroplate rather than solid silver. EPGS stands for electroplated German silver (German silver is an early term for nickel silver). If this is correct then it dates to the latter part of the 19th century, but before about 1890.
