I have recently bought some silver bullion coins and i they are starting to rust a bit

I s this normal for silver?

No. Silver will oxidize (rust) to a very small degree, but will tarnish - the black tarnish is mostly a compound of silver and sulfur, which is why we should keep our silver away from any source of sulfur, such as the ink in newsprint, eggs, rubber bands, and oils.
