Help - I've been staring at hallmarks for days and can't find out about this one. I have two grape pattern oval covered servers with a left facing lion (British sterling I think), a bell with horizontal lines behind it and sort of a wilting fleur de lis. The only bell I can find is for Roberts or Simmons that closed shop in 1848. Any clues? Also, the marks are engraved rather than stamped - does this matter? There are three stamped marks underneath: look like stylized deer on left and right and the bell again in the middle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is an American set of silverplate marks.
