Who does this hallmark belong to? A shield with intials M S

I can not find anything on who the maker of this is. It was in a box of random items at an auction.

The hallmark looks like a shield (reminds me of the salvation army badge) with a “M” and then the worlds “silver on copper” and then an “S” on the other side.

Hi there and thanks for joining us. Your item is American, silver palted, and made by the Modern Silver Mfg. Co. Inc. of Brooklyn, NY, circa about 1950.
