I have recently acquired this hand beaten silver pot which has a birmingham hallmark for 1907...ie the lion, anchor and letter h.
The makers name is rather obscured and can't really be photographed. However, it could be J followed by another letter - perhaps James Fenton?
The pot is about 2 and a half inches high and looks very hand made, being hammered all over.
I would be very interested in whether anyone has any views about it.
Particularly, could this be described as being an object created under the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement? It seems so totally out of keeping with most other silver styles from this period.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
