This is a photograph of the marks on a really small silver ornamental plate around 2 cms diameter featuring a ceramic flower display.

The marks look like: Star, 122, AR and 800

Can anyone tell me anything about the meaning of the hallmarks - ie the origin and any further details?

Those are Italian marks used since about 1970. The AR would be the province. The number 122 would identify the manufacturer.

That's about the extent of my knowledge of Italian silver marks.
