i have a solid silver box ,stamped lion anchor 1858 (v) but the maker is d & i cant find maker could you help

We need a clear picture of the hallmarks before we can help you. Makers' marks are not normally single letters and if the hallmark is 1858 then there is one punch missing - the duty mark. The anchor implies a Birmingham assay where the 1858 date letter is J.
