THOMAS JEFFERSON SPOON

I HAVE A SPOON ABOUT THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE WITH W ROGERS MFG CO AND THE LETTERS I S ON THE BACK WHAT DOES THAT MEAN

Hi there and thanks for joining us. The William Rogers Mfg. Co., Hartford, Connecticut was one of the original companies that merged to form the International Silver Co. in 1898. The “I.S.” on your spoon is for International Silver which continued to use the “W. Rogers” trademark after the merger. If the spoon does not also have the word “sterling” on it that means it is silver plated and not solid silver.

Regards,

Uncle Vic
