I am trying to identify and determine the value of the attached item. I believe it is made by Mauser Manufacturing as it has a Unicorn Mark. It is also stamped sterling and below that the number 3941. It is about 4 inches high and about 4 inches wide including the handle. The lid is hinged. I have tried to id it on-line with no success.

Thanks.

Hi there and thanks for joining us. Yes, the unicorn would be Mauser, in business from 1887 until 1903. The number would be the pattern number. It looks to me like it should have a porcelain pitcher that fits inside it to hold cream as part of a coffee or tea set perhaps? I have some Mauser demitasse coffee cup holders with porcelain cups that have a similar design.

Regards,

Uncle Vic
