i have 6 silver desert spoons and 6 silver forks with gilpin ltd on the back of them and i think it says x ns as well are these worth anything

As your spoons and forks are not hallmarked they can not be silver. NS normally stands for nickel silver which is a base metal alloy containing no silver at all. Unfortunately therefore they have no intrinsic value.
