I have 12 silver tea spoons and 2 silver serving spoons with monograms which were brought to the US from Germany by my husband’s great grandmother around 1860. Can you tell me anything about these spoons - when and where they were made and the maker? When I sized the pictures to 500*500 the quality went down hill - I hope you can see them. The marks are a long row of what look to be upside down v’s and then 12 LOTH SILV BAKER. SWS
The loth silver standard system was used in both Germany and the Austro-Hungarian empire. 16 loth is pure silver so 12 loth is .750 standard. That’s as far as I can go.
