The photograph shows the end of a knife handle can any member tell me if it is plastic bone or ivory the only information I can give is when looking at the end through a lens there is lots of what i would call Vs or chevrons the blade is hallmarked made in Birmingham in 1848 by George Unite.

I have just done the red hot pin test and I am now convinced that it is ivory as the hot pin left no mark.Any comments welcome.
