I have a heap of family cutlery, most is marked "EP" but some larger items are not. Im sure these are Silver Plate but cannot confirm this by the marks. I am totaly new to this, could someone pls advise ? Surprised

I am sorry to have bothered you, marks are for Allen & Darwin 1879 - 1922 Sheffield.

Great site though.........

Hi there,
The mark is that of Allen & Darwin, but it is the later mark, registered in 1893 and in use until 1922.

Regards
Daniel
