In this forum you will see recommendations from individuals who use polishes and methods that are much to abrasive for silver. I've been researching the subject of silver care for the past 30 years. If you don't have the time to read through my Silver Care Guide, at least visit my Silver Silver Polish Abrasion Ratings. I always recommend starting with a non-abrasive cleaner. If that doesn't remove the tarnish, scroll down to the Extremely Mild Abrasion category. These are the least abrasive polishes on the market. Toothpaste is too abrasive. Nevr-Dull is too abrasive. Simichrome is too abrasive. Trust me, I've tested these products

IMPORTANT! When removing tarnish, always invest more time using a gentle silver polish over getting quicker results with a more abrasive silver polish.
