Hi - Is it best to clean the hallmark area before I take a photo, or will this just cause glare? if the hallmark is clearly visible but indistinct, is it better left alone before posting on this site?
I am new here so any advice is appreciated!

If the mark is not clear, polishing will not help.

One trick for reading rubbed marks is to try breathing on them first. (This is also a good trick for finding repairs, but thats a different topic....) If you can breath first and then take the picture quickly, you might be able to get a good picture.

Hope that helps // Jonathan
