Sorry to post again, but I realized I have pictures of this spoon that was also my great grandma’s who came from England that I’m really intrigued by.
Does anyone know what the markings mean?
This is electroplate, by Elkington & Co of Birmingham. Elkingtons were unusual among electroplaters in that they used a system of date codes. On your spoon this is the letter or number in the diamond shape. Unfortunately I cannot make it out but the diamond shows that it is from the series 1841-1864.
