Hello All -

I recently picked up an antique cane at a flea market, and I was wondering if anyone could help me with some identification.

From research I was able to do online, it seems that the cane was marked by the Birmingham (England) Assay Office in 1910.

I have not been able to identify the maker's mark and I have no idea what type of wood this is. One site I found had a similar looking wood and it said that it maybe a wood known as "Congo Pearl" or perhaps it was sweet chestnut with the knobs being created by using a "distresser" while the wood was growing.

Any help identifying the maker, wood, or adding any info at all will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help!

Hey all -

Thanks for trying (I see all the views), but I decided to put it up on eBay (so I don't want to ask anybody to spin their wheels needlessly).

Thanks again, and see you next time.

Adam
