Hello every-one,i wonder if any of you folk can be of assistance in helping me identify these hallmarks.
I have indentified some marks but i am stuck on the others.
The piece in question is a silver(?) cup awarded to tennis players.
It bears the marks DW over JW and i found out that this John and Daniel Welby and dates from the end of the 19th Century to the mid 20th century.
The lion is the assay mark for Birmingham and then i become condfused.
It has a shield shape which is blank and also a numeral 1(ONE)
I am unsure what these mean and i am also unsure whether it is silver plate or solid silver and to what part it is silver.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thank-you for taking the time to read my post.

when you describe the marks you state it is BIRMINGHAM. I assume it has the anchor within a cartouche which signifies that it was assayed in Birmingham ( the lion confirming that it is silver and not plate).
Is it possibile that the 1 you refer to is a lower case letter i (with dot rubbed) which would date the item to 1908 - date marks are always letters'
If you can photograph and post on site i could confirm
hope this helps
