Hi, thanks for looking. I found these two pieces today, and they don't have traditional hallmarks. I've looked under the lids and handles, no markings and the only mark on the bottom is 1873, The stamp is slightly different from one piece to the other, and I suspect the lid on the smaller piece may be a replacement. Any thoughts, please?

In the absence of anything indicating solid silver you will have to assume that they are electroplated with 1873 probably being a pattern number.

Thanks, that's my assumption right now. I'm guessing not US or British, or it would have a company name, and silver plate markings somewhere. Is anyone reading who would have thoughts on another country of origin?
