Hi there, thanks for joining us on silver-collector.com.
It is always hard to identify Exeter silversmiths marks, as many smiths from the surrounding areas sent their silver to be hallmarked in the Exeter assay office, as it was the biggest office in the south west.
I think looking at the date of the spoon that this was possibly the case. Looking through my reference books the most likely maker was William Hope, who was based in Plymouth Docks and is registered as working from 1816 to 1833, but unfortunately I cannot say for sure.
Hope this helps a little,
Daniel Franks

Hi
I have another piece that I'd like to ID the makers name, I have checked 'jackson's silver and gold marks' but it doesn't extend to 1911.
I have attached the photo.
many thanks
Trevor

Hi Frank
Many thanks once again for helping me out.
Must admit I'd not come across the makers before, quite unusual!
Best wishes and regards
Trevor
