Hi all, I have had this silver item for around 25 years now and still haven't really got any idea what it is. I have taken it to quite a few antique shops but noone seems very clear as to what it is. Have tried to post pics hopefully they are clear enough to see.
The following marks are on it,
FC Makers name (Frank Cobb?)
AM with a crest above (Air Ministry with the Kings Crown)
Date letter Y (1941)
Crown for Sheffield and Lion mark for silver
It comes apart into 3 pieces with the middle piece having the same hallmarks except for the Kings Crown and AM and it is obviously threaded. The 2 end pieces are hollow. When all joined together it measures nearly 5cm.
Any clues any one??

Maybe part of a travelling shaving kit?? Quite an enigmatic object!
