Post subject: Four parallel lines and a cross on Victorian silver?

I have about 5 Victorian lockets of a silver coloured metal, all with the same etched mark inside. This marks consists of 4 parallel lines and a cross underneath. Is this some kind of makers mark? Or is it a continental mark? Is it even silver? Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place, i am new to this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
