Post subject: So I inherited a watch...

Hi

So I just inherited inherited a watch off of my Grandfather, and after a quick browse on the internet i've found out it was made in Birmingham and is Sterling silver.

The date stamp and the makers mark has me stumped though.

The inside of the back plate.

The inside of the fob (it's attached to the chain)

The Fob and coin holder.

If anyone can help me with regards to the dates and the makers mark I would be grateful.

Thanks.

James

The watch is probably dated from 1909 and it's a Birmingham assay, but it is missing the Lion Passant mark to signify Sterling Silver. The maker might be James Fenton, but his initials aren't usually in diamond cartouches in the examples I've seen. The fob looks to be from 1913 but the photo is too blurred to see the maker's mark.
