I have a silver goblet, hand hammered, hand-chaised, with ornate scrollwork.There are blobs of silver around the outer rim, maybe where they hammered through and patched the hole. It looks extremely old, and has a mark on the bottom, which looks like 800MD, but I can’t find any information on that mark. Can someone please help me out?My e-mail is gregorypayne@yahoo.com.
Many of the features of your piece are classical Yogya silver. When marked, Yoga silver is mostly 800 and the initials of the maker. I don’t know a good source for translating the maker’s initials yet…also, FYI, go to www.925-1000.com and go to the link for articles on silver.
