Mystery marking on EP spoon

Hi There
I have a silver plated spoon which I know little about. My Mum thinks it could have belonged to her grandparents. It is marked with a canon and the words `Defiance’. Does
this mean anything to anyone?!
Thanks for your help

Sounds like a silverplate mark used by Brookes & Crookes, Atlantic Works, St. Philip’s Road, Sheffield, England.
They entered their first sterling mark at Sheffield in November of 1864.
Don’t know how long they were in business.

That’s fantastic, thanks so much for your time and help
