1800s Mappin & Webb Sauce Boat..Sterling or Plate?

I have a Mappin & Webb sauce boat, I think it would be called. It is 5 1/2" long x 3" tall. Is it a sauce boat?

On the bottom, it says “Mappin & Webb Ltd, Sheffield & London.”

And it has these marks.

Is it sterling silver or plate or something else? Anything you can tell me about age? Thanks so much!!

Hi there again, Tere…I’m the American silver guy, but your sauce boat seems pretty easy from my English silver books. It’s English, sterling, made in Sheffield and the date letter looks to me like 1930.

British silver people, am I right? I’m trying to read up on my English marks since me & the wife are going to the big Miami Beach show in a few weeks and I want to be on top of my game, or at least reduce my odds of messing up…
