American Coin Silver Spoon?

I inherited this spoon from my grandmother and would appreciate any information anyone may have about it. I believe it is American coin silver. The back is marked “P.O. Daniel”. I’ve not been able to find any information on this maker.

Thank you!

Hi there - I don’t see the name in any of my American maker books. The fiddleback shape is typical of early American coin silver items, but the absence of purity marks (i.e. 900, 9, etc) makes me suspect it is not solid silver, perhaps silver plated or nickel silver.

Regards,

Uncle Vic

Thanks so much for the information.

Perry O. Daniel, Boston, Massachusets ( c.1830).

Thank you. I very much appreciate the information.

Kind regards.
