Can anyone provide some information on the history of this spoon?
The EP equates to Electro Plate ![]()
thank you!Is this a modern spoon, or is it an antique?
hhh
I know that the A1 represents a good or high quality of silver plate and that the spoon is vintage at its very least, the EP tells us that it’s Electro Plated and not a Solid Silver item. Possibly manufactured in Sheffield !, and as for the other markings ( stamps ) I’ll have to keep researching as I’m on a learning curve myself. No doubt one of the Oracles of this wonderful forum will be along soon to enlighten us both as to the birth, parents and life of your beautiful berry spoon ![]()
It looks like a poor imitation of William Page products.

Unidentified, I think.
It probably dates (if it is English, which seems very likely) to before the mid 1890s when the use of a crown on electroplate became illegal.
英国银版上的伪印记I did a bit of systematic research and found this. It should be really hard to tell who made this spoon. Now I just hope the craftsmanship on it was done by hand, lol.
