I bought 2 items on eBay (2 spoons) and I really would like to know whether they are solid silver, silver plated or just silver coloured spoons. I’m no expert on silver hall marks so this is where you fine people come into the picture.
I’ve provided some pictures of the items below.
This is the other spoon.
You’ll have to show us a clearer picture of the mark on the second item, which looks like a cheese scoop to me, but the first one is plated. “BP” stands for Britannia Plate which is electroplated Briatnnia metal. I’m not certain who the manufacturer is but it could be Joseph Elliott & Sons of Sheffield.
