Butter knife,hopefully silver

Id be very grateful for any information about this little butter knife. It may be cloissonne enamel and im hoping its Russian or Scandinavian. Its 5 ⅝inches long and 23.1 grams,It cleaned up like silver a bends easily. Thankyou in advance.

Russian or Scandinavian silver would be marked. If there are no marks it is highly unlikely to be silver wherever it is from.

And the place to look for marks is not on the enameled portion, but on the exposed silver. The marks, if there are any, would probably be on the underside of the handle.

Thanks Jeff, ive had a really good look with a loupe, not a hall mark or makers mark at all.

Thanks Phil, it bends like, and cleans like silver, what I’ll do is take it to a jewellers who has an XRF machine. Ive seen your posts about unmarked items before and broadly agree with you.Perhaps this will be the exception that proves the rule…Theres a charity shop in Shepperton that is glad of my " rejects" from the car boot sale. Best wishes David
