Can anyone ID and decode these marks? The closest I saw online was Matthew Boulton but the base looks more machined and modern to me. The sun hallmark looks close to Boulton, but I can’t make out the other marks. Is this old Sheffield or new repros?
It looks too modern to me too despite the similarity of the sun mark to that of Matthew Boulton. Old Sheffield Plate can be identified by looking at any exposed edges where the join between the silver sheet on the surface and the base metal can be seen. If you can’t see any such edges it points to modern electroplate.
