Can anyone identify my Silver teapot

Hi.

Could anyone please identify and value this silver teapot. It weighs 717 gramms and stands 15cm from the base to the top of the lid. It has a very old sugar cube inside, believed to be 70 years old or more! There are no dents or scratches. Thanks

Unfortunately it is not silver. The marks are electroplate marks of John Round & Son of Sheffield. It dates from before the mid-1890s when the use of a crown on electroplate was outlawed. Electroplate value depends greatly on the condition of the electroplate so you must polish your teapot with silver polish to check whether there are any areas of plating loss. If there are the value is practically zero; if not then you are probably looking at a few tens of pounds (GBP).
