I recently found this nut scoop by Towle in the Georgian pattern. The more I look at it, the more I feel it may not be right. Any opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi there Kelly and thanks for joining us. Your scoop’s pattern is indeed the Georgian by Towle, introduced in 1898. See Phil Dreis’ excellent “Sterling Silver Flatware”, 2d Ed. published by Warman’s, 2009, page 327. Phil and his family have a booth each year at the Miami Beach antique show and he is an expert on American silver flatware and patterns. His book is the best I’ve seen to easily identify flatware patterns.
