The maker seems to be W.W., but the manufacturers I found with that mark are different. And as for the other three hallmarks, only the ‘S’ is easily legible. The one in the middle looks like a leopard’s face?
As an extra detail, the previous owner was from Israel and lived in Spain. It could be from anywhere.
It’s a London silver hallmark (leopard’s head for London) with date letter S for 1992. The seated figure is Britannia indicating that the silver is Britannia standard, higher than sterling at 958. WW is the maker’s/sponsor’s mark. It is too recent to appear in any references so I am unable to put a name to it.
I am intrigued by the idea of a “power wand”. Do please post a picture of it.
The wand is an octagonal silver tube, 38 cm long. Inside, it’s filled with small greenish-coloured crystals – possibly quartz. One end is capped with a piece of emerald-green stone, and the other end has a transparent quartz point, cut in an octagonal spear shape.
I disassembled it to weigh the silver tube, and it weighs 333 g – a number I’m sure is no coincidence.
Each of the 8 sides is completely carved with Futhark runes.
I’m trying to appraise it, but it’s difficult because I can’t find anything similar for comparison. One craftsman told me that making this work in silver is quite expensive due to the high labour cost, on top of the metal value.
That’s the tricky thing about appraisals. What it would cost to make another one is usually not relevant. The only thing that matters is what someone else would pay for it. But with no discernible “market,” you’re left to guess. I gather these aren’t showing up in car boot sales.
I’m in touch with that gentleman from Reddit. He runs a business making artisan wands. He’s based in Amsterdam.
He’s very impressed and interested in my wand. But he only works with iron, bronze, and copper. He’s the one who warned me about the work involved – that due to the size and shape of the wand, it would have been a long and expensive job.
No, the 1893 punch has a shield shape (leopard and date letter), rather than a square with chamfered corners. It really is between 1973 and 1992. I still go for the fatter “S” of 1973:
I’m still certain it’s 1992. Note the distinct decoration on the top of the 1973 [lower case] s which is absent in the 1992 [upper case] S. It becomes clearer if we compare real examples rather than the sketches:
