Help identifying Lawson & Co stamp

I’m trying to find out more about this tray with a Lawson & Co 1845 stamp. All my internet research shows Lawson & Co stamps with just a L & C logo, nothing with the whole word ‘Lawson’ spelled out. Any help on identifying company, country, etc. is much appreciated!

Your tray is not silver. The 4 letters at the bottom of the mark are EPGS for ElectroPlated German Silver (German Silver is an old term for nickel silver). And 1845 is a pattern or identification number, not a date. I think that this Lawson & Co is almost certainly Lawson & Co of Buchanan Street, Glasgow.
