Hi, can’t identify the maker on my charming little silver basket with an iridescent blue glass bowl. The marks are very hard to make out. First mark im pretty sure is a C with a lion’s head in it, indicating Canadian 1934 -1978. Second one looks like IJ? No IJ listed anywhere. Third mark??? Any help would be much appreciated.
American, not Canadian. The first mark is G in a shield - no C or lion that I can see. See G H French & Co: American sterling silver marks: marks and hallmarks of US makers: Fo-Fz

G.H. French of North Attleboro MA, ca. 1920’s/30’s. They were later absorbed into the Elmore Silver Co.
Oh brilliant! Thank you both. That’s it exactly. I bought it here in Canada so convinced myself it must be a canadian mark. Thanks again.
