Can anyone very kindly help me identify what the various numbers and hallmarks are on the attached? It’s a silver plated teapot. Thanks!
JD&S EP - James Dixon & Sons (of Sheffield), electroplate. 2258 is probably a pattern number, of no particular significance; and 5 - who knows? but of no significance at all although it probably meant something to Dixons.
These are manufacturer’s marks, not hallmarks.

Hi Phil
Thanks so much for your help!
Does the ep not stand for electro plating?
Are there no other silver marks?
Of course EP stands for electro plating (or electroplate) - that is why I said it’s electroplate. As it’s electroplate there cannot be any silver marks, only manufacturer’s marks.
