Help with interpretation of markings on a fiddle spoon

Hopefully someone can confirm/assist me in the interpretation of the markings on a silver fiddle spoon that I have.

Reading left to right:

1. Victoria duty mark, therefore London?

2. Lion passant, therefore England?

3. Edinburgh town mark? (at odds with 2 if correct)

4. Cannot match the U font for a specific year

5. Looks like J.W. & Co, but cannot find any manufacturer of that name

6. Not very clear from the photo, but it’s the number 6

Any/all assistance greatly appreciated.

Not particularly correct I fear.

  1. Victoria duty mark so the correct tax has been paid
  2. Lion passant, the English guarantee of sterling silver
  3. Exeter town mark
  4. Date letter U for the Exeter assay year 1876/77
  5. JW&Co, maker’s / sponsor’s mark for Josiah Williams & Co of Bristol
  6. Journeyman’s mark, the private mark of the workman responsible for this piece
