How old is this salt shaker?

I think this is a salt shaker, any information on its origins would be appreciated.
On the bottom it says:
Oxford Plate
390
Silver Plate on Lead.
Thanks,
Melanie

Hi Melanie and thanks for joining us. Without seeing the mark, I’d guess it was made by the Oxford Silversmiths Co. of New York sometime between about 1918 and 1950.

Regards,

Uncle Vic

Thanks Uncle Vic,

It has no makers mark that I could find. I could try cleaning it but the tarnished look is appealing to me.

Lately I’ve started picking up old looking silver at thrift stores. It’s fun trying to research the item, but time consuming.

All I know about antiques is what I’ve seen on Antiques Roadshow.
