My wife’s mother had a very small collection of sterling silver pieces. hoping someone can help identify these pieces.
For clarity and ease of identification the photos are color corrected, and the silver has tarnish marks removed.
Piece 1 — Teaspoon
- Length: 5 3/4"
- Beaded border, rose bouquet crest at top of handle
- Mark: “R.W. & S.” / “STERLING” (R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co., Wallingford, CT)
- Engraved script “Rose” on handle — possibly a monogram, or possibly the pattern name
Piece 2 — Tablespoon
- Length: 8 3/8"
- Beaded border, laurel wreath and bow motif with engraved monogram “J” (or similar)
- Mark: “R.W. & S.” / “STERLING” / “MFD”
Piece 3 — Ladle (cream or sauce)
- Length: 6"
- Gadrooned/fluted border with twisted rope edge
- Mark: “KIRK & S.” / “STERLING” — believe this may be S. Kirk & Son Co. (Baltimore, MD)
- Engraved script monogram (3 letters, hard to read clearly — possibly “S.M.” something)
Would appreciate any help confirming pattern names, especially for the Kirk piece since I know less about their pattern lines. Also curious if anyone has a ballpark sense of value for pieces like these — individually or as a small set.
