Is this a silver soap dish ?

Hi,

I don’t know what this is. It looks like a soap dish, but do people make soap dishes out of sterling ? I’d think it would be the wrong metal to keep wet.
Any idea on pattern, year etc ?

Very pretty.
I would say it’s American & a bonbon dish. Date would depend on any other marks?
Possibly the turn of the last century

I may find other pieces in the attic that match it and find some other marks on those, all this one has, I posted.
