Look, silver, but no marx.Is it for the kitchen or apotheo or medical?

A scoop or measure for small ammounts but any other info please but seems to be silver. Nutcracker for scale.

Looks like primitive marrow scoop but it’s too long…

This is defiantly a double ended marrow scoop, used for extracting marrow out of long bones. They can be long. I have some well over 300mm long (30 cm).

The two sizes respond to different size bones. Larger bones, the bigger end of the scoop is used. Not used so much today, but in Georgian times certainly. In the Victorian era there were bone marrow Clubs. Yes, mad isn’t it……how eating fashion changes over time.

Thank you for that. I understand it now. One of many strange objects I have in a drawer alongside the grape scissors and melon scoop. When I first heard marrow I assumed they meant the vegetable rather than the actual insides of bones.
