Hi All,
I need help in identifying who the maker is and tbh what it is and how old is is?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
The table lamp device is normally associated with the Sheffield company, James Deakin & Sons. However the form of the lamp is slightly different and the intials don’t match so it must be another company which I haven’t come across before.
Despite that I can definitely say that it is electroplated and not silver. The initials EPNS stand for electroplated nickel silver and the A1 is a standard mark used by electroplaters to denote their best quality plate.
I can’t say for certain what the purpose of your item was but the glass inserts suggest that it is for something which might react with a silver coating such as pickles or salt.
