Hi everyone
I have this Elkington & Co. silver-plated saltshaker from 1927 (if I’m reading the date mark correctly). Can anyone enlighten me on the meaning of the N.A.D. marking, please? Could it be related to another manufacturer, or simply an owner’s monogram, or even the Naval Ammunition Depot?!! Sadly there is significant damage to the plating and it’s seized shut, so I’m not expecting any value. Many thanks for any guidance to a newbie in this field

1927 - correct.
N.A.D.: This abbreviation stands for Naval Ammunition Depot. Large inland depots, such as the one in Hastings, Nebraska (which was the largest in the U.S. during WWII), were known locally as “the NAD”. Similar institutions also existed as Royal Naval Armament Depots (RNAD).
