This spoon belonged to my grandmother and I’ve found out the make is John Round & Sons of Sheffield. I cant seem to identify the date of manufacture though. Can anyone help please?
Sorry, dating electroplate is near impossible. A few manufacturers used private date-coding systems but this is not one of them.

Ok no problem. thanks for the rapid response!
Have discovered that John Round & Son were called that until 1874 after which it was John Round & Son Ltd so am i able to date it to pre 1874 based on the makers mark?
Cheers
Phil
I don’t think that John Round & Son ever used “Ltd” in their marks so you can’t use it’s absence to date your spoon.
ahh, ok.
Just that i came across this: John Round & Son Ltd
Also it has a capital H on the tip of the handle. not sure if that means anything?
Ah, yes, there is a mark with “Ltd” there but I think it’s an isolated example - normally they didn’t use it.
